At Newquay Zoo we try to recycle and re-use as much as possible, whether its aluminium cans, batteries, electrical equipment or even off-cuts of wood left over from the building of new enclosures.

The Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust is a registered educational and scientific charity dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and the natural environment; and owns significant visitor attractions in the south west of England. The Trust recognises that the conservation of wildlife and that of materials and resources are intrinsically linked and that the daily activities of the organisations it owns create significant environmental impacts, especially in the areas of waste production, water and energy usage.

The Trust is committed to managing existing and new practices at each of its sites so as to minimise the environmental impact of these activities and to support the principles of sustainable development. Each organisation will do this by investigating and using the best available and most cost effective techniques and will put aside resources in terms of time and money to achieve these goals.

You can make a positive impact and raise money for Newquay Zoo by using a freepost envelope for your used empty inkjet cartridges/mobile phones. For every cartridge sent, the Zoo will receive a generous donation from EAH Recycling (up to £1) and on average each workable phone is worth £6. Not only will you be helping to improve the environment, but assist us in our dedication to conserving global wildlife heritage and inspiring in its many visitors a life long respect for animals and the environment.

To donate your mobile, remove your sim card - please do not include mobile chargers.  The envelopes will hold up to 3 handsets. Why not ask friends and family to donate too? Please make sure envelope is secure.
