Health and Wellbeing

Not only are zoos a great day out to connect with your families, friends and loved ones, but they are also great for your health and wellbeing in more ways than one.
With many distractions in daily life it is extremely important that people take time out to enjoy and concentrate on themselves.

CONNECT

Busy work lives can sometimes get in the way of quality time with your loved ones. Spending the day out in the beautiful sunshine and surrounded by magnificent wildlife from across the world can help to strengthen these bonds and provide you with an enjoyable day out.

LEARN

They give you a great opportunity to learn. Newquay Zoo is home to over 130 species and are part of many vital conservation projects around the world. A day out in the zoo gives you the opportunity to learn about the worlds wonderful biodiversity, the role zoos play in conservation and will hopefully empower you and other visitors to help make a change.

PEACE

Zoos are a tranquil place to really appreciate and be at one with nature. There are plenty of seating areas and benches across our tropical site where you can sit down appreciate the peacefulness and enjoy the singing of some of our songbirds.

ACTIVE

Zoos are a great place for exercise. Newquay Zoo is a 13-acre site with many nooks, crannies and different routes to explore. We recommend a good 3-4 hour visit to see everything – imagine how many steps you could do in that time?! A good walk around the site in the fresh air, stopping to see many animals along the way is great for your health. There are also kids play areas for your little ones to blow off some steam. And to reward yourself for this – a cuppa and slice of cake from Café Lemur will do wonders.

So, a trip to the zoo can be a great remedy for health and wellbeing, whether you’re with your family, a friend or just want to spend some time on your own.
