Cornish Week at Newquay Zoo

1st March – 9th March 2025

At Newquay Zoo, we are proud to celebrate Cornwall’s unique heritage, language, and wildlife. As Cornwall’s only zoo, we want to highlight the deep connections between our local environment and the conservation work we do every day. Cornish Week is our way of honouring St Piran’s Day while showcasing the incredible species that call Cornwall home and our role in protecting them for future generations.

Join us for a week-long celebration featuring:

  • A Cornish-name animal trail, where visitors can explore the zoo and learn new Cornish phrases while spotting black and white (and gold) animals – just like St Piran’s flag and the colours of Cornwall.
  • Delicious Cornish food at Café Lemur, including locally sourced pasties, traditional cream teas (jam first, of course!), and homemade Cornish Fairings -yum yum!
  • Discover how Newquay Zoo contributes to conservation efforts both locally and internationally, highlighting the importance of preserving Cornwall’s natural heritage.

Spring is one of the best times to visit the zoo, with many of our animals becoming more active as the weather warms up. All activities are included with standard admission or membership. Plus, Newquay residents get 10% off entry with a Love Newquay loyalty card!
