Love is in the air....

We love our lemurs and so we thought we'd give them a special treat this Valentine's day in the shape of some heart shaped beetroot.
We hung them from the trees in their enclosure and they happily grabbed and devoured the juicy snacks.
The black and white ruffed lemurs are listed as being critically endangered and in the wilds of Madagascar where they originate, the biggest threat to their survival is the destruction of their habitat.
Ringtailed lemurs are considered a vulnerable species, as the forest in which they live in Madagascar is being destroyed by slash and burn agriculture, charcoal production and mining for gemstones and minerals.
If you fancy getting up close to our family of ringtailed lemurs why not have a go at feeding them? You can do this during one of our Lemur Island Experiences. To book simply call 01637 973342.
