Staff at Newquay Zoo are celebrating as a prestigious holiday company has become the latest member of the Conservation Club.

Sykes Cottages has over 3,000 holiday cottages in the UK and Ireland, including many quality properties in Cornwall. Newquay Zoo Director Stewart Muir is delighted to have them on board with the Conservation Club, which provides businesses with the opportunity to show their green credentials and support conservation projects both within the Zoo and abroad.

He explains;  ‘‘ Without the support of businesses, visitors and members we would not be able to help as many conservation projects as we do. I am thrilled that Sykes Cottages has decided to support the Conservation Club – and I am looking forward to working with them on behalf of species and habitats globally.’’

Clive Sykes, Founder of Sykes Cottages said; ‘‘Sykes Cottages are excited to be working with Newquay Zoo by joining the Conservation Club and helping to support a local attraction which is enjoyed by so many of our customers on their holidays in Cornwall. Whilst we’re a national holiday cottage agency we also understand the value of local attractions and their importance to our customers and our cottage owners. Newquay Zoo is a fantastic attraction and we’re happy to be supporting them and the great work they do.’’

The aim of the Conservation Club is to create an opportunity for businesses to engage with the Zoo and demonstrate their green credentials. For their generous donation to Newquay Zoo, Sykes Cottages have demonstrated their commitment to environmental issues and are helping the Zoo protect endangered species and preserve their natural habitats. The company have very kindly allowed Newquay Zoo to allocate the money where need, rather than donating to a specific project.
