After the success of last years Locals’ Weekend, staff at Newquay Zoo are thrilled to announce – it’s back!

On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of March the Zoo will be hosting Locals’ Weekend 2012, where Cornish residents can see amazing animals, take part in loads of family fun games and activities and support a brilliant charity for only £3 per person (except under 3’s – who are FREE!!)

Stewart Muir, Zoo Director said: ‘‘Last years Locals’ Weekend received such a huge amount of interest we have decided to throw another! The fantastic support of the Cornish community allows us to do so much conservation work, both at home and abroad, that we could not achieve otherwise. As a thank you for all we would like to offer all Cornish residents a chance to visit our lovely Zoo at a special price – and have a great family day out for less!’’

Lorraine Reid, Events Manager said: ‘‘Local’s Weekend 2012 is a not to be missed opportunity to get closer to our fascinating animals for an amazing discounted rate. Not only will there be animal encounters, keeper talks and enrichment, there will also be fantastic activities for children, including trails, tombola, mask making and face painting. Our friends from Countryside Hawking will be here with their beautiful birds of prey, and if you fancy throwing a fish to a friendly penguin or scatter feeding mischievous meerkats then this is your chance! This will be an exciting weekend and a chance for Newquay Zoo to say a special thank you to all of our local supporters!’’

Please bring proof of Cornish address to receive special entry price. Locals’ Weekend 2012 is a great day out for the whole family! We look forward to seeing you!
