Staff at Newquay Zoo are thrilled after Visit Britain released its list of the Top 10 zoos in Britain – and Newquay Zoo was featured.
The accolade was announced by Visit Britain on 22nd January, much to the delight of Director Stewart Muir.
He said; ‘‘It is fantastic news that Visit Britain, the official tourism body for the UK, has announced Newquay Zoo as being one of the Top 10 zoos in the country. They were especially impressed with our dedication to worldwide conservation, friendly staff and providing a fantastic visitor experience. Whilst we are not as large as some of the other zoos on the list, our unique combination of endangered species and welcoming staff has made us a must-see destination for visitors to Cornwall.’’
Zoos have been popular in Britain since the 19th Century, and make a great family day out. Newquay Zoo is one of the largest not-for-profit charities in Cornwall – with all money made going directly back into the Zoo and its conservation projects.
