Cornwall’s Newquay Zoo has been named Southern England’s Venue of the Year by disabled access charity Euan’s Guide.

The family friendly attraction stood out for its impressive new Changing Places toilet. Changing Places toilets are used by more than 250,000 people across the UK. When these facilities are not available thousands of people cannot safely take part in activities that the majority of the population take for granted.
People also highlighted the venue’s good wheelchair access and willingness to listen and act on visitor’s feedback.

Disabled people nominated hundreds of venues for the awards. Eight regional winners were selected who each provide an outstanding welcome for disabled visitors. Some of the other successful winners include the Barbican Centre, Cadbury's World and Folly Farm.
