Scary Fairy Tales are the theme for this year’s Spooktacular Halloween party at Newquay Zoo where plenty of ghoulish goings-on are guaranteed to give children and adults alike a night full of frightful fun.

The Zoo is normally closed after 5pm but the popular annual Zoo Boo party, on October 31st, offers visitors the rare chance to enjoy some eerie entertainment after dark, surrounded by 1,000 rare and exciting animals. There’ll be a terrifying trick or treat trail around the Zoo and plenty of games and activities along the way.

Events Manager Lorraine Reid says: “Where better to party on Halloween night than at the home of lions, reptiles, snakes, spiders and all kinds of creepy crawlies?

“We guarantee nowhere else in Cornwall will be offering a horrid Halloween quite like ours. Besides an action packed programme of entertainment, there’ll be opportunities to get close – if you dare! - to some of our scariest creatures.”

Staff and volunteers will be in Scary Fairy Tales fancy dress costumes so visitors are encouraged to follow their lead. It’s the perfect time to unleash your inner big bad wolf or evil queen!

The party starts at 6.30pm and will finish at 9.30pm. It’s suitable for all ages but children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets cost £9.95 per adult, £7.50 per child and £3 for under-3s. The entrance fee includes a special witches’ brew, some gruesome gruel and light refreshments. Advance booking is essential – call 01637 873342.
