A HARE-RAISING ADVENTURE AWAITS: EASTER FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY AT NEWQUAY ZOO

Newquay Zoo invites families to an egg-ceptional Easter with the Easter Hare this April. From 5th to 26th April 2025 Newquay Zoo will present an enchanting family experience that combines festive fun with educational opportunities and cracking Easter adventure, featuring the delightful Easter Hare as the centrepiece of the celebration.

Meet The Easter Hare

The Easter Hare will be hopping to Newquay Zoo where families can meet the hilarious Easter Hare for captivating storytelling sessions, on selected dates throughout April. These sessions will unveil the true tale behind the Easter Bunny, revealing its origins as a mis-identified ‘egg-laying’ hare. Scheduled at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm on select dates – 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st April – these stories promise to entertain and educate audiences of all ages.  The Easter Hare will be brought to life by creative educational storyteller Rob Copeland from Copeland.life.

Easter Activities

Beyond the storytelling sessions, Newquay Zoo offers a variety of egg-themed activities designed to engage and educate visitors from the 5 – 26 April 2025:

  • Easter egg trail: Embark on an egg-citing adventure around the zoo by picking up a free trail sheet at the entrance. Follow the map to discover hidden eggs, solve the secret word, and claim a special prize. Along the way, encounter some of the world’s rarest egg-laying animals and learn fascinating facts about the special species at our zoo, including lemurs, lynx, warty pigs, penguins and a vibrant array of birds. 50p per trail sheet.
  • Ranger talks & activities: Join our Rangers for daily animal talks, feeding sessions, and interactive activities. Gain insights into the lives of our incredible residents, including our very own egg-laying penguins, and participate in Easter-themed games and activities to bring wonders of wildlife to life.
  • Native wildlife celebrations: With spring here, visit the native nature activity hub in the Bird Hide, where colouring sheets and puzzles await. This peaceful spot offers a chance to unwind while observing our vasa parrots and discovering more about Cornwall’s native species.
  • Tasty Easter treats: No Easter adventure is complete without some delicious food! Café Lemur will be serving a special homemade Scotch egg, just for Easter, while Tippy’s Takeaway has grab-and-go options perfect for a picnic in the sunshine. And of course, no day out is complete without ice cream – head to Ices for a scoop (or two!) of your favourite flavour.

Natalie Timms, Visitor Experience and Retail Manager for Newquay Zoo said:

“We’re really looking forward to introducing the Easter Hare to Newquay Zoo for the first time. In the past, characters like Professor Seymour Stuff have been a big hit with both kids and adults, and we’re sure the Hare’s storytelling sessions will be just as popular. There’s a great mix of activities for all ages, whether you want to follow the egg trail, catch a ranger talk, or just enjoy a day out surrounded by wildlife.”
