Explore Newquay Zoo with Bing and Flop this January
Newquay Zoo is welcoming Bing and Flop, from the award-winning series Bing, this January. The collaboration between independent creative studio Acamar Films and Wild Planet Trust will see Newquay Zoo feature activities based around the pre-school animation Bing, which airs on CBeebies.
Parents will be able to create special memories with their little ones during their visit to the zoo with a Bing and Flop Meet and Greet between 21 February and 3 March 2024 on selected days and times.
Families can also follow a fun Bing activity trail to learn about the animals in the zoo and help the zookeepers complete their checklist. This brand-new family activity trail which runs from 20th January to 3rd March is designed to encourage young children to get outdoors and experience new things about the world around them.
Along the trail children will discover how a colony of Humboldt penguins swim underwater, learn how red pandas stay warm and find out how the Critically Endangered warty pigs find their food.
Matt Lewis, Engagement Manager, Wild Planet Trust added: “Bing is a series in which young children observe and learn how they can impact those around them and this focus on connection to each other and the environment aligns strongly with our mission. We know our visitors are going to love meeting Bing and Flop and gaining greater understanding of animal species and the world through the activity trail. ”
“Curiosity and exploration along with an understanding of the world and the consequences of our actions are important themes in Bing. This partnership gives us a beautiful way to bring those motifs beyond the screen,” said Kirsty Southgate, Director of Experiential and Promotions, Acamar Films. “Newquay Zoo, part of Wild Planet Trust, recognises the affection that young children have for Bing and I cannot wait for families in the South West to discover more about the natural world with Bing.”
