Outdoor play areas
Our outdoor play area and Tarzan Trail are the perfect places for your little ones to let off some steam. Complete with climbing frames, swings and slides, it’ll keep your children occupied whilst giving adults a little time to relax!
Close by you’ll find benches and snack bars to keep you refreshed during your visit.
The Secret Garden
If you would like some peace and tranquillity during your visit, take a stroll through our Secret Garden, located opposite Tippy’s Takeaway. Surround yourself with beautiful trees, plants and wildlife during this short stroll – what native species can you spot?
The Oriental Garden
This beautiful garden showcases a variety of Japanese and Asian plants including Acers and Azaleas. The garden follows a traditional planting style found in Japanese garden design. You can also spot some of our species that are native to Asia, including Prevost’s squirrels, Owston’s civets and short-clawed otters.
Gems of the Jungle
Walk in to this free flying bird exhibit and immerse yourself in the south east Asian jungle. Take a seat on the bench and watch these beautiful songbirds fly around you whilst learning about the plight of song birds in the wild and how threatened they are.
The Tropical House
Our Tropical house is home to some of the world creepiest crawlies, slitheriest snakes and beautiful birds. We also have Roxy and Hadar our two-toed Hoffmann’s sloths who can normally be found sleeping high up in the Tropical House during the day.
Food & Drink
To fuel your adventure at Newquay Zoo there are plenty of tasty meal and snack options, hot and cold drinks and a variety of delicious ice creams to enjoy.
Our zoo has lots of outdoor seating, as well as undercover picnic areas for all weather occasions.
Located next to the entrance of Newquay Zoo and overlooking our beautiful lake, Café Lemur offers a locally sourced seasonal menu including main meals such as sandwiches, pizza and burgers, salads, children’s picnic boxes, as well hot beverages and refreshing cold drinks.
Open daily from 10am until half an hour before we close. Our closing times are dependent on the time of the year, so please check before you visit.nk
In the heart of Newquay Zoo, Tippy’s Takeaway offers a range of sandwiches, wraps, pasties and sweet treats! You can also purchase hot and cold drinks here, along with lollies and ice creams.
Open during the peak summer months from 10am.
To keep your cool during your visit, stop by Meerkat Munchies and grab a delicious Cornish ice cream or a refreshing ice lolly. Find Meerkat Munchies next to the children’s play area.

We offer a selection of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options. If you have any specific allergy requirements or preferences, please either contact us prior to your visit on 01637 873342 or speak to a member of the Catering team on the day who will be happy to advise you further.
Our food is made using the best local, ethical and sustainable ingredients, all freshly prepared daily by our Catering team. We only use products that contain sustainable palm oil or none at all and we have also stopped selling single use plastic bottles across site.
Gifts & Souvenirs
As you exit Newquay Zoo, you will walk through our gift shop, stocked with plenty of unique gifts and souvenirs.
Whether it’s a cuddly toy, a mug, book or reusable drinks bottle, there are plenty of wild and wonderful gifts to suit everyone’s taste and budget.
As a conservation charity, we do our best to ensure that our suppliers meet our own ethical standards regarding items we sell. We work constantly to set an example that echoes our mission and values, including:
- Introducing products made from recycled plastic bottles
- Replacing plastic sweet wrappers with biodegradable alternatives
- Removing and reducing unnecessary packaging
- Insisting that any products containing palm oil use accredited sustainable sources
All profits made in the gift shop go directly towards our vital conservation work so whatever you buy, you can be sure that you’ve helped to make a difference to wild life, and wild places, around the world.
