We hope that the below terms and conditions help you understand our policies better. Please take a moment to read these terms and conditions carefully.

General Entry

Please respect our animal’s welfare and your safety by observing the below code of conduct. 

  • Barriers in the zoo are for your own safety and for the welfare of the animals. Please do not step over any of the fences or bang on windows at exhibits. 
  • Please do not feed the animals, they all have carefully planned diets and other food may be harmful to them. 
  • For safety reasons we do not allow barbecues, balls or balloons within Newquay Zoo. 
  • The use of radios, scooters, rollerblades or skates is not permitted within Newquay Zoo. 
  • Heelys roller shoes must not be used as skates, but may be worn as shoes. 
  • The use of drones and other flying objects is prohibited. 
  • Bicycles are not allowed within Newquay Zoo. There is a bike rack just outside the main entrance to Newquay Zoo in the Council owned car park. 
  • Permission must be obtained for all filming and photography for commercial purposes. 
  • Children under 16 will not be admitted without an adult over the age of 18 and must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
  • No animals, other than fully trained and registered Assistance Dogs, are allowed in Newquay Zoo. 
  • There is no provision for left luggage. 
  • If you wish to return to your car after entering the zoo please keep your receipt to regain entry for that day.
  • Please do not leave dogs unattended in your vehicles, especially on hot days.
  • Parking in the Council owned car park is at your own risk. Please note, the car park outside Newquay Zoo is owned and managed by Cornwall Council. Parking terms and conditions and tariffs are clearly displayed and are applicable to all zoo visitors. Any issues regarding parking must be directed to Cornwall Council, Newquay Zoo are unable resolve any complaints. 

Zoo Tickets

  • Visitors are strongly advised to book online to secure choice of date and great savings. Online prices are not available at the tills. You can purchase your ticket here. 
  • All admission tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. 
  • When you confirm your purchase, you are accepting that these terms and conditions form the basis of any contract between Newquay Zoo and yourself. 
  • Prices are inclusive of any applicable taxes and there are no surcharges whatsoever. Once you have paid, we will not increase the price of your tickets. 
  • Prices displayed on the site are subject to change without notice. 
  • Only one offer valid per transaction (if applicable). 
  • Student concessions require a valid Student, UNi-DAYS or NUS Card which is in date. 
  • For a full paying guest with a disability, one free carer is permitted entry free of charge and a form of ID such as a Blue Badge, PIP or DLA letter must be presented on the day of your visit. 
  • We reserve the right to refuse entry. 
  • We reserve the right to eject a visitor should their behaviour be unacceptable or put another visitor at risk. 

Annual Memberships

  • Members are advised to book online during peak times. You can book online here. 
  • When purchasing your Membership online please allow 21 days for receipt of your Membership pack. 
  • All benefits, are subject to change and may be withdrawn at any time. 
  • A Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, not from date of first visit and cannot be extended under any circumstances. 
  • Digital photographs will be taken and printed on to individual Membership cards. 
  • Membership cards are NOT TRANSFERABLE or refundable once purchased. 
  • Any Membership found to be used fraudulently will be confiscated and not returned or refunded. We reserve the right to cancel a Membership without refund, if a Member knowingly allows a third party to use their card. 
  • When visiting us please ensure you have your Membership card with you. Only the person who is pictured and named on the front of the card can gain access to Newquay Zoo. 
  • To take advantage of your Membership discounts in the shop and restaurant just show your valid Membership card prior to payment. Unfortunately discounts cannot be given without production of a valid Membership card. 
  • A Membership does not constitute a full paying adult or child, therefore cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or discounts. 
  • Any lost, defaced or stolen cards will be cancelled and replaced at a nominal charge of £2 per card. 
  • If you move house, remember to tell us. This will ensure that you receive your renewal notice. 
  • Purchasing or renewing a membership with a disabled concession requires any of the following documents to be shown at time of purchase in order to qualify for the concession; Disability Living Allowance letter, Blue Bad, P.I.P payment award or Access Card documentation. Regrettably we are unable to process your concession without this. 
  • Free entry to other zoos – offers vary for each zoo from time to time, so please check with them before you visit. 
  • We reserve the right to close all or part of our zoos as necessary. Closures at short notice will be notified on our updates page. 
  • We will not tolerate physical or verbal threats towards its staff. Any Membership Holder behaving inappropriately will be denied access to, or be asked to leave Newquay Zoo immediately. In these circumstances, cancellation of a Membership without refund may result. 

Annual Membership Direct Debit

  • Direct Debit is a safe, secure and easy way to pay and you are protected by the Direct Debit guarantee.
  • We will always contact you to confirm the amount and frequency of payments with the payment date when the direct debit is set up. If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit, we will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited.
  • We will email you before your membership expires to ask you if you wish to continue with the direct debit scheme, the scheme will automatically renew if you do not contact us to say you wish to cancel.
  • If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by Wild Planet Trust or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society. If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Wild Planet Trust asks you to.
  • You can choose which direct debit scheme you wish to sign up for, either 1 annual payment or 10 monthly instalments.
  •  All customers paying by direct debit agree to an initial deposit, as shown on the membership page. This is non refundable.
  • Wild Planet Trust will only accept one direct debit mandate per family group.
  • If a payment fails, we will contact you to notify you. Failed payments may result in the membership being suspended and access to the zoo will be denied until outstanding payment has been made. Any outstanding account arrears will be payable before reinstatement of any membership scheme run by Wild Planet Trust. Any late payments are subject to a £10 administration fee, payable at the time of settling the arrears.
  • If late payments are not received within 7 days, we will cancel the membership and are unable to reinstate memberships after this time.
  • Wild Planet Trust retains the right to recover all outstanding balances.
  • Monthly direct debits are a full binding contract between Wild Planet Trust and the member and will automatically continue until Wild Planet Trust are notified otherwise in writing.
  • Should Wild Planet Trust choose to discontinue the membership scheme the member will be notified in writing one month in advance.
  • The Management reserves the right to reject any application or withdraw without refund, for failure to comply with our membership terms and conditions.

Off Peak Membership

  • This membership is only valid for free entry between 1st September and 31st March and allows free entry for a total of 7 months (in a 12 month period) from the date of purchase. For example, if you purchase your membership on 10th December, it will be valid until the 9th December the following year.
  • This membership is not valid for free entry from 1st April – 31st August.  If you visit during these months you will be required to pay standard admission price.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 years old at all times.
  • They cannot be extended unless the zoo is closed to visitors for extended periods of time.
  • Digital photographs will be taken and printed onto each individual member’s card. Memberships are NOT TRANSFERABLE or refundable once purchased.
  • Any membership found to be used fraudulently will be confiscated and not returned or refunded. We reserve the right to cancel any membership, without refund, if a member knowingly allows a third party to use their membership card.
  • When visiting us please ensure you have your membership card with you. Only the person who is pictured and named on the front can gain access to the Zoo.
  • This membership scheme is not included in our reciprocal visit scheme.
  • To take advantage of your membership discounts in the shop and restaurants you will need to show your valid card prior to payment. Unfortunately discounts cannot be given without the production of a valid membership card. This discount is valid for the length of the membership.
  • Memberships do not constitute a full paying adult or child, therefore cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or discounts.
  • Any lost, defaced or stolen cards will be cancelled and replaced at a nominal charge of £2 per card.
  • If you move house, please update your details with us as soon as possible.
  • We reserve the right to close all or part of the zoo as necessary. We will inform you of closures as soon as possible via our updates page on our websites.
  • We will not tolerate physical/ verbal threats, intimidation or inappropriate behaviour towards our staff. Any member behaving inappropriately will be denied access, or asked to leave the zoo immediately. In these circumstances cancellation of your membership without refund may result.

Childminder Passes

  • Childminder Pass Holders are advised to book online during peak times. You can book online here. 
  • The Childminder Pass is only to be used when the registered childminder is working and cannot be used on weekends. 
  • The pass cannot be used with your own family when you are not working. 
  • The Childminder Pass is valid for one adult, the named registered childminder, and up to 4 or 6 children in your care aged 0-12 (dependent on the childminder pass you purchase). Any children aged 0-15 years, in addition to the four children allocated on your pass, must pay the standard child rate. All children under your care must be accompanied at all times. 
  • This Childminder Pass cannot be used in conjunction with any other zoo offers. 
  • Assistants will need to be Ofsted registered and must purchase their own pass. 
  • Childminder Passes are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, not from the date of your first visit and cannot be extended. 
  • A digital photograph will be taken and printed onto your individual pass. Childminder Passes are not transferable or refundable once purchased. 
  • To take advantage of your Childminder Pass discounts in the shop and restaurant just show your Childminder Pass prior to payment. Unfortunately, discounts cannot be given without production of a valid Childminder Pass. 
  • A pass found to be used fraudulently will be confiscated and not returned or refunded. We reserve the right to cancel your Childminder Pass, without refund, if a pass holder knowingly allows a third party to use their pass. 
  • Any lost, defaced or stolen passes will be cancelled and replaced at a nominal charge of £2 per card. 
  • If you move house or change email address, please update your details with us as soon as possible. 
  • We reserve the right to close all or part of our zoos as necessary. We will inform you of closures as soon as possible via our updates page on our websites. 
  • We will not tolerate physical or verbal threats towards our staff. Any pass holder behaving inappropriately will be denied access to, or asked to leave Newquay Zoo immediately. In these circumstances cancellation of your pass without refund may result. 

Scooter Hire

Whilst using the hired equipment at Newquay Zoo, you must: 

  • Keep your speed on the lowest setting indoors or down hills. 
  • Not leave the equipment unattended and remove the key if not in use. 
  • Only drive on suitable paths as identified on the disability access map provided. 
  • Return the hired equipment at least 15 minutes before Newquay Zoo closes. 
  • Listen whilst undertaking the safety briefing and undertake an assessment prior to using the equipment. 
  • Report any faults, malfunctions immediately to a member of staff 
  • Advise us if you are involved in any incidents involving the equipment. 
  • Be responsible for your own action whilst using the equipment. 
  • Agree that should any of the terms of use be disregarded, the hire of the equipment will be terminated. 

Whilst using the hired equipment, you must not: 

  • Turn sharply on bends or steep inclines. 
  • Let anyone other than yourself use it or allow any pillions or passengers (including children). 
  • Go on the areas identified as red on the disability access map. 
  • Drive in a manner that may put yourself or other visitors at risk. 

Sponsorships

  • Please contact us within two months of placing your order if you have not received your sponsorship pack in the post. Any claims after the two month period cannot be honoured. Your complimentary ticket will not be valid until you have received your sponsorship pack. 
  • Please allow 14 days for delivery of your sponsorship pack. We cannot be held liable for any delivery delays following dispatch. 
  • Please note, we can only send out sponsorship packs to addresses within the UK, 
  • We cannot guarantee your sponsored animal will be visible on the day you visit. Allow time to revisit the enclosure throughout the day to avoid disappointment. 
  • We aim to display sponsor’s names in the zoo as soon as possible, but this may take up to 28 days. 
  • All sponsored animals remain the property of our zoos which reserve the right to move them to other establishments as may be necessary. Sponsors will be notified of any such moves and offered the opportunity to transfer the sponsorship to another animal. 

Animal Experiences

  • If you cancel or change your experience within a week of it taking place you will be charged a £10 administration fee.  
  • All experiences are booked on a first come first served basis. Please do not assume your experience is booked until you have received your experience pack for the date stated, or you have had confirmation by telephone. 
  • You will be entering working environments; from time to time things may happen beyond our control and we may need to cancel your experience at short notice. If this happens you will be contacted via email or telephone at least 24 hours before your experience is due to take place. We recommend that you check your messages and emails before your visit in case we have contacted you. 
  • Minimum age limits apply to all experiences: Penguin Experience, Red Panda Experience, Lemur Experience and Junior Keeper Experience – 8 years or over.  Zoo Keeper Experience – 15 years or over.  
  • For any children under the age of 16 or anyone requiring a carer, one adult is allowed entry behind the scenes for supervising purposes only. 
  • Full admission price must be paid for any guests including the supervising adult. 
  • Behind the scenes can be muddy and messy so please dress appropriately. Suitable clothing includes full length trousers and a lightweight coat in case of rain. For your safety closed toe shoes must be worn.  
  • Newquay Zoo reserves the right to cancel your experience if you arrive more than 10 minutes late without prior agreement and unfortunately your experience cannot be rescheduled. 

Website Usage

1. User obligation 

  • Use of this site constitutes your acknowledgement and acceptance of these terms and conditions, which take effect on the date on which you first use the site. By accessing, using and/or downloading materials from this site, you agree on your own behalf and on behalf of each entity and person on whose behalf you act to abide by the terms and conditions set forth below. Newquay Zoo reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time by posting changes online and it is your responsibility to refer to and comply with these terms on accessing the site. Your continued use of this site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions as modified. 
  • If these terms and conditions are not accepted in full, you do not have permission to access the contents of this site and therefore should cease using this site immediately. 

2. Copyright and Other Intellectual Property 

  • The names, images and logos identifying Newquay Zoo, and associated organisations or third parties and their products and services are proprietary marks of Newquay Zoo, its associated companies and/or third parties. 
  • All copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights in this site (including the design, arrangement and look and feel) and all material or content supplied as part of the site shall remain at all times the property of Newquay Zoo. In accessing the Newquay Zoo, you agree that you do so only for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not agree to, permit or assist in any way any third party to commercially exploit or modify in any way the material or content without Newquay Zoo prior written permission. 

3. Terms of use 

  • The use of this site is only for lawful purposes, in a manner which does not infringe the rights of or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of this site by any third party. Such restriction or inhibition includes, but is not limited to, conduct which is defamatory, or which may harass, cause distress or inconvenience to any person and the transmission of obscene or offensive content or interruption of the normal flow of dialogue within this site. 

4. Disclaimer/Limitation of Liability 

  • This site and the information, names, images, pictures, logos and icons relating to www.newquayzoo.org.uk, Newquay Zoo and/or any of its associated companies, products and services (or to third party products and services), is provided “AS IS” and on an “AS AVAILABLE” basis without any representation or endorsement being made and without warranty of any kind, including but not limited to the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security and accuracy. 
  • The information and other materials included on this site may contain inaccuracies and typographical errors. Newquay Zoo does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of the information and materials or the reliability of any statement or other information displayed or distributed through the site (including, without limitation, the information provided through the use of any software). You acknowledge that any reliance on any such statement or information shall be at your sole risk. Newquay Zoo reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to correct any errors or omissions in any part of the site and to make changes to the site and to the materials, products, programs, services or prices described in the site at any time without notice.   • All products and services mentioned in this site are subject to availability and are available at the sole discretion of Newquay Zoo. Furthermore, all references to Newquay Zoo products and services are intended to apply only in the United Kingdom. 

6. Indemnity 

  • You agree to indemnify and keep indemnified Newquay Zoo from and against all claims, damages, expenses, costs and liabilities arising in any manner from your entry to and use of the site other than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. 

7. Law and jurisdiction 

  • These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England. Disputes arising here from shall be exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England. Any cause of action you may have with respect to your use of this site must be commenced within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arises. 
  • If any of these terms and conditions should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by reason of the law of any state or country in which these terms and conditions are intended to be effective, then to the extent and within the jurisdiction in which that term or condition is illegal, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from that clause and the remaining terms and conditions shall survive and continue to be binding and enforceable. 
  • Newquay Zoo makes no representation that materials on this site are appropriate or available for use at other locations outside of the United Kingdom and access to them from territories where their contents are illegal is prohibited. If you access this site from a location outside of the United Kingdom, you are responsible for compliance with all local laws.

Wi-Fi 

By using our internet service, you hereby expressly acknowledge and agree that there are significant security, privacy and confidentiality risks inherent in accessing or transmitting information through the internet, whether the connection is facilitated through wired or wireless technology. Security issues include, without limitation, interception of transmissions, loss of data, and the introduction of viruses and other programs that can corrupt or damage your computer. 

Accordingly, you agree that the owner and/or provider of this network (Newquay Zoo) is NOT liable for any interception or transmissions, computer worms or viruses, loss of data, file corruption, hacking or damage to your computer or other devices that result from the transmission or download of information or materials through the internet service provided. 

Use of the wireless network is subject to the general restrictions outlined below. If abnormal, illegal, or unauthorized behaviour is detected, including heavy consumption of bandwidth, the network provider reserves the right to permanently disconnect the offending device from the wireless network.  

Examples of illegal uses

The following are representative examples only and do not comprise a comprehensive list of illegal uses: 

  • Spamming and invasion of privacy – Sending of unsolicited bulk and/or commercial messages over the Internet using the Service or using the Service for activities that invade another’s privacy. 
  • Intellectual property right violations – Engaging in any activity that infringes or misappropriates the intellectual property rights of others, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, service marks, trade secrets, or any other proprietary right of any third party. 
  • Accessing illegally or without authorization computers, accounts, equipment or networks belonging to another party, or attempting to penetrate/circumvent security measures of another system. This includes any activity that may be used as a precursor to an attempted system penetration, including, but not limited to, port scans, stealth scans, or other information gathering activity. 
  • The transfer of technology, software, or other materials in violation of applicable export laws and regulations. 
  • Export Control Violations. 
  • Using the Service in violation of applicable law and regulation, including, but not limited to, advertising, transmitting, or otherwise making available ponzi schemes, pyramid schemes, fraudulently charging credit cards, pirating software, or making fraudulent offers to sell or buy products, items, or services. 
  • Uttering threats, the distribution of pornographic materials to minors and child pornography. 

Examples of unacceptable uses

The following are representative examples only and do not comprise a comprehensive list of unacceptable uses: 

  • High bandwidth operations, such as large file transfers and media sharing with peer-to-peer programs (i.e. torrents). 
  • Obscene or indecent speech or materials. 
  • Defamatory or abusive language. 
  • Using the Service to transmit, post, upload, or otherwise making available defamatory, harassing, abusive, or threatening material or language that encourages bodily harm, destruction of property or harasses another. 
  • Forging or misrepresenting message headers, whether in whole or in part, to mask the originator of the message. 
  • Facilitating a Violation of these Terms of Use. 
  • Hacking. 
  • Distribution of Internet viruses, Trojan horses, or other destructive activities. 

School Visits

  • Please make sure that you pre-book your group visit at least one week in advance by emailing [email protected] or by calling 01803697510. Find out more about Educational visits here. 
  • Our standard Terms of Entry apply. Please note that these are subject to change without notice. 
  • By making an enquiry you agree to us contacting you regarding your booking. 
  • By making your booking, you are accepting that these terms and conditions form the basis of any contract between Paignton Zoo/ Newquay Zoo and yourself. 
  • Reduced Education entry rates are offered to schools, colleges and other organisations that are for educational purposes and must be booked in advance of the visit. 
  • Due to the nature of our business from time to time things may happen beyond our control and we may need to change the programme at short notice. 
  • In the event you decide to cancel your visit within two weeks of the booked date, your school will be invoiced for the cost of the workshop only. 
  • You may be entitled to a Risk Assessment voucher as part of your booking.  This is for use by school teaching staff only and may only be used in conjunction with school photo ID. The voucher will only be valid during the same term as your visit is booked. 
  • Instances of disruptive behaviour will be reported immediately and dealt with accordingly.  Unfortunately, in extreme cases, this can lead to the whole school group being asked to leave Newquay Zoos premises. 
  • By making your booking you agree to abide by the recommendations in our Visit Guide. 
  • School staff are responsible for the supervision of all students throughout their visit.
